More than just shopping
As well as all the shopping and food & drink you could need, Castle Quay also accommodates the Banbury Museum where you can find out all about Banbury’s rich and exciting history. Find out about the siege of Banbury Castle during the Civil War, how Banbury exported its plush cloth around the world, the history of the Canal and see many treasures from across four centuries of history. You can also access Tooley’s Boatyard from here, where you can take boat tours and visit the art gallery. The museum is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 5pm, and Sundays and Bank Holidays 10:30am to 4:30pm.
Other services available within the centre include the Tourist Information Centre, where you can get help planning your visit to Banbury, and buy a wide range of souvenirs, gifts and local history publications.
Castle Quay has a full range of facilities to make your visit comfortable. These include cash points, public toilets with disabled and baby changing facilities, and in the south car park there is the Shopmobility unit, designed to help all shoppers with special needs. We also have a lost property service, accessed by calling 01295 256296, and a dedicated security team making sure that the centre offers a secure and safe environment.
There are 830 spaces in our two car parks located off Cherwell Drive, including 38 Disabled and 62 for ‘Parent & Toddler’. For that bit of luxury, you can now take advantage of the environmentally friendly ICC car valeting service and have your car thoroughly cleaned while you are enjoying yourself at Castle Quay. Visit Castle Quay’s Parking Page for more information about all the services they have to offer, including scratch, stain and pet hair removal.
The Castle Quay owners are currently developing planning applications to extend the centre, which will include a new cinema, supermarket and canal side cafes and restaurants. These plans went on display in July 2013 and received a very positive response from the 700 visitors. Further information about these plans can be acquired from Rachel Ashby at RachelAshby@proteuspr.co.uk.
